Scholarly Publishing: Think about Your Name

Some of us have very common names and you will find that your name indexing is not very precise. Some publishers just want your initials, some your full name and all of these will result in inaccurate links to the wrong person.

ORCID is trying to create a personal "doi" for authors so that all variations of your name will be linked to you.

A non-profit organization that is working to give each researcher a unique identifier so you are not lost in the crowd.
