Inspired by a conversation and a term that they had never heard of, the CEP Library created the Ableism display in partnership with the Workplace TASK program to create a conversation and to get people thinking about a subject which is rarely thought of, or discussed.
For the month of November 2018, the library featured this display facing out into one of the main CEP hallways. It was designed to define and bring awareness to Ableism, challenge viewers to change their vocabulary as it highlighted ableist words, and asked people to be more accepting as we are a diverse society and community and everyone belongs.
This guide was created as a digital expansion of that physical display. As this guide has expanded beyond that scope, this page features the image of that display.
