Indigenous Studies

Introduction

This project came together through the work of Dr. Lolehawk Laura Buker and her student Meghan Hilton as a directed studies project in Fall 2025 and conversations with Indigenous Studies Liaison Librarian Janelle Sztuhar. This project is growing and evolving as we learn more ourselves and we share the project as an invitation for people to explore Indigenous topics, current events, news, and more.

The University of the Fraser Valley is situated on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples. The Stó:lō have an intrinsic relationship with what they refer to as S’olh Temexw (Our Sacred Land), therefore we express our gratitude and respect for the honour of living and working in this territory.
