Open Education Micro Grant Program (2025)

Information about UFV's OEMGP for 2025. Including considerations for applications as well as selected projects, past projects, and information about OER.

Overview

The purpose of the OEMGP was to support UFV faculty open education projects. Grant recipients were determined through a competitive process, and the funds used to hire Open Education Student Assistants to directly participate in each project. The OEMGP injected resources into small-scale open education practices to drive active, sustained, and prominent faculty and student involvement. By supporting faculty initiatives according to their specific need and providing students with direct experiential learning, the OEMGP helped to build capacity in open educational practices at UFV, which, in turn, will inspire the foundations of an open education culture albeit in a limited way.

At the end of the program, one project was granted at a value of $5,000 to support two Open Education Student Assistants.
