ENGL 105, Academic Writing (Ron Sweeney)

Getting Started

Before looking for sources that you will use for your assignment, be clear about what topic you want to research, have some keywords in mind, and make sure you have some background knowledge/understand key concepts.

UFV Library is a great support to find research materials - as as student you pay tuition which in part goes towards buying content that you can access only via UFV Library. UFV Library has access to books, e-books, videos, newspapers, company reports, academic articles, and more. You will likely visit websites for government information, company or non-profit websites, as well as social media sites.

Think about what types of sources you need (based on assignment instructions) as well as where you are most likely to find that type of information.
