Below are some websites that provide images from the public domain or Creative Commons. Be sure to double-check for licensing information to make sure these images can be used for your purposes. Gratisography
This image/photography collection is maintained by Ryan McGuire, who has offered all images under Creative Commons Zero/public domain. McGuire does not require attribution for using his images, but would appreciate acknowledgement. Visit the copyright restrictions page for further details.
The Noun Project
If you are looking for typographical symbols, the Noun Project has an extensive collection of CC-licensed icons uploaded by graphic artists. Since different graphic designers may choose to license their work differently, double-check for licensing information before using the icons.
OpenClipArt
All Clipart available on this website has been released into the public domain, as indicated by a Creative Commons public domain dedication mark. No restrictions are imposed on the content.
Open StreetMap
This is an user-generated collection of maps focusing on local communities. As long as you give credit to OpenStreetMap, you are welcome to use the images. Check the Copyright and License page for information on how to credit OpenStreetMap, and for other restrictions.

Travel Coffee Book
This is a website with free travel photographs, all under the CC 0 Licence. There is no search function for this website, but users can click on the archive link to see all the photos uploaded, listed by month of the year.

Upon entering the site, visitors see “Free (do whatever you want) high-resolution photos” in the middle of the page. This is another website with a high number of photographs that you can use, even commercially, without restrictions. Use the search function to find images.
