AGRI 142, Agribusiness Principles (Renee Prasad): Home

AGRI 142 Group Assignment

20% of course grade (15% individual and 5% group)

Each group will select a single commodity at random and will conduct a S.W.O.T. analysis on that commodity.

The 8 commodities that students can choose from are:

Lingonberries, Okra, Quinoa, Jerusalem artichoke (sunchoke), Rabbits, Quail, Snails, Mangalitsa/mangalica

A portion of this work will be done individually but you will also be expected to work together as a group so that the final presentation is cohesive.

This project will have three deliverables

1) Update conversation with Renee – before and during class

I would like to see your research notes, images and articles that you’ve pulled together individually as well as your combined efforts

2) Poster draft/report submitted to Renee for review and comments

A) Each student will submit a 500 to 750 word summary of their findings to date. This summary will also include a literature cited section.

B) The literature citation section should include at least 2 papers from a scholarly journal; 1 web-based article from a reputable source (university, government web-site); 1 article from a newspaper or grower magazine (can be hard or electronic copy).  For every source you must provide:

Author(s). Year of Publication. Title of the article or web-site. Source (Scholarly Journal, Web-site, Magazine, newspaper name).

Please see the Literature Citation tips on the Student Success Centre web site

C) A poster draft that presents some but not all of the points from each group members summary (Part A) along with visual information (pictures, graphs, that are adequately sourced)

3) A final poster that will be presented during class on November 30, 2015.  Attending the presentation will be a series of guests and fellow students (second year students in Enterprise).
