Indigenous Identity

Author Joseph Boyden visited UFV in 2009. Since then Boyden’s experiences have forced him to examine issues of Indigenous identity, heritage and self. What emerges is Boyden’s truth…a truth, eloquent in its telling, that wrestles with a colonial past that is not the making of Indigenous peoples.

Joseph Boyden Biography

The University of the Fraser Valley is situated on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples. The Stó:lō have an intrinsic relationship with what they refer to as S’olh Temexw (Our Sacred Land), therefore we express our gratitude and respect for the honour of living and working in this territory.
