Searching for Books

The UFV Library has a vast collection of print and electronic books and videos for students to use for their studies. Remember: when accessing resources off-campus, users will be prompted to enter their UFV credentials to gain access.

Finding Books on Campus

The Library uses a call number system to organize all the books on the shelves. Books are arranged within categories that are sorted alphabetically and numerically. When looking for the 'call numbers' on the spines of the books - read them from top to bottom, and left to right.

Punjabi fiction and poetry will be under the PK 2659 section. Children level reading materials can be found under PZ 90 P3. At the Abbotsford Campus Library, these books will be up on the second floor towards the back near the windows (the second row of shelves); see the red start on the map below. Dictionaries will be on the first floor to the left of the lounge seating area in the middle of the Library; see the red start on the map below.

Public Library Resources

Public libraries will have more resources for youth and fiction works as their mission is to serve their communities. If you cannot find a title you are looking for at UFV Library, try a public library!
