UFV Library elicited the help from SEWG members and their peers to create a curated collection of photos in library spaces at both Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses. These photo collections are used for marketing purposes and the Library wanted UFV students to be reflected in the images.

UFV Library, Student Union Society, and Pride Collective partnered on the design, creation, and distribution of pronoun pins that are freely available to the UFV community. This initative enables the UFV Library to serve students and faculty in our community in
inclusive and innovative ways. This helps us work towards our goal of becoming a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for all. Pins can be found at SUS offices as well as both campus libraries.

In May 2023, the UFV Pride Collective invited the Library to host a session so that individuals could create their own pronoun pins. We are so happy that we can support this inclusive programming.

SUS invited the Library to participate in Kickback in Fall 2022 (and again in Fall 2023). A party like event on the green, with music and food trucks, this was an opportunity for the Library to connect with students in a fun atmosphere. Over 600 prizes were given out from our booth and we connected with even more students.

In September 2023, SUS hosted the Library in their building on campus for a series of 5 outreach sessions to inform students about the library and its services. This series was important to host at the start of term to increase awareness of our services that are available to students before starting their assignments. We met with over 50 people!

In Fall 2022, SUS hosted numerous tabling sessions in for Open Access Week. These awareness campaigns highlighted the costs of textbooks for students and encouraged students to sign a petition to support more open work by the university. Library was thrilled to support this initiative by providing resources and visiting the tabling. Open Access & Open Education are areas that both SUS and the Library continue to advocate for and work on together.
