A poster (at least in this context) is a large format document, usually for public display, that discusses a research project in a concise manner, using both text and graphics. It is frequently used in the sciences and social sciences as a form of scholarly communication at conferences and meetings.

There's a lot to be said for keeping it simple and using tools we probably already know. Many web sites advocate using PowerPoint to create your poster.
Printing Your Poster
UFV's Print Services offers large format printing. If you're a student, the cost of printing your poster may be covered by the department, or by the Research Office. It's always a good idea to ask.
