Know History has provided a range of historical services to assist in the research, presentation and documentation of Canada’s history. With offices in Ottawa and Calgary and associates located throughout the country, we have had the privilege of working alongside policymakers, museums, filmmakers, Indigenous organizations and individuals to make history relevant.

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is responsible for supporting and promoting inherent, aboriginal and treaty rights to aquatic and oceans resources.

The Indigenous Leadership Initiative is dedicated to facilitating the strengthening of Indigenous Nationhood for the fulfillment of the Indigenous cultural responsibility to our lands, the emergence of new generations of Indigenous leaders, and helping communities develop the skills and capacity that they will need as they continue to become fully respected and equally treated partners in Canada’s system of governance and its economic and social growth.

The Constitution Express was a movement organized in 1980 and 1981 to protest the lack of recognition of Aboriginal rights in the proposed patriation of the Canadian constitution by the Trudeau government. A group of activists led by George Manuel, then president of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs chartered two trains from Vancouver that eventually carried approximately one thousand people to Ottawa to publicize concerns that Aboriginal rights would be abolished in the proposed Canadian Constitution.

The Indigenous Food Systems Network Website was developed by the WGIFS and is designed to allow individuals and groups involved with Indigenous food related action, research, and policy reform to network and share relevant resources and information.

NAFSA was created to bring grassroots practitioners, communities (rural, remote and urban), and organizations together along with Tribal governments to share, promote and support best practices and policies that enhance dynamic Native food systems.

Ho’-ku-melh is a Chinook Jargon word that means “to gather.” This exhibition is a gathering of Indigenous artists and knowledge holders. Twenty Indigenous artists share their gifts in this multi-sensory journey. Through the war canoe, the artists explore climate change, food security, displacement and ongoing colonialism.
