Finding Images: Science

This collaborative online encyclopedia is designed to promote awareness and increase knowledge of all life forms, including plants, animals, fungi and bacteria. Many images found in this encyclopedia are made available for use under Creative Commons licenses. Double-check the licensing information before using/sharing the images.

With a mandate to contribute to geoscience education, Earth Science World Image Bank makes its copyrighted collection of photos and images available for non-commercial and research/educational purposes. Visit the Image Use page for details on how to credit the images found on this website.

For the most part, the images, photographs, and audio/video files found on NASA Image Galleries are not copyrighted. NASA has made these materials available for educational and informational purposes. Please note, however, that the NASA logo itself is protected and cannot be used without permission. This online image database is an open Web repository for biological specimens from all over the world. Non-password-protected images carry CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 licenses. This online library gathers science-related images and videos on plants, animals, landscapes, soil, scientific/laboratory equipment, man-made structures such as dams, and animal-derived products such as wool.
