About Company Filings in SEDAR+

SEDAR+ provides copies of all legally required filings for public companies trading on stock exchanges in Canada. Some of the filing/document types you'll find are:

Document Name

Description
Annual Information Form Information on corporate governance, financial information, capital structure, and strategic directions ("forward-looking statements")
Annual Financial Statements Reports the assets and liabilities of a business, revenues, and costs, as well as its cash flows from operating, investing, and financing activities for the stated fiscal year
Code of Conduct Describes the company's policies and practices related to ethical behaviours
Interim Financial Statements Quarterly financial reports (unaudited); useful for updating annual financial statements when part-way through the fiscal year
Management Information Circular Notice of AGM for shareholders; often contains information on executive compensation
Annual MD&A (Management's Discussion & Analysis) Companion document to the annual financial statements; narrative explanation, through the eyes of management, of how the company has performed in the past, its financial condition, and its future prospects
News Releases Information released to the media and public by the company

Finding Company Filings

Finding Company Filings

  1. Choose the Search SEDAR+ link from the landing page
  2. The search defaults to a Document search. Fill in the details:
    1. Profile = company name; choose "Contains" (default) or "Starts with" from the Search operator drop-down list
    2. Filling type or document type = choose as many as you want from the drop-down list (e.g., Annual MD&A, Annual Financial Statements, Annual Report)
    3. Submitted date = you must include both a From date and a To date; note that you want at least 2 or 3 years of documents (depending on the type of document)
  3. Click the Search button.

Numbered steps, select profiles to search on, add filing type, date range.
