This tutorial will help you become familiar with the reference management software EndNote Web, which comes with the library’s Web of Science subscription. This is not the desktop version that requires you to pay for a personal subscription.
This tutorial will also show you how to collect and organize references from the library’s databases.
In order to use EndNote, you first need to register with Web of Science. From the UFV Library’s website, navigate to the Web of Science database. Then, at the top right-hand side of the database page, click/tap “Sign in” and use the drop-down menu to select “Register.” Follow their instructions for registration and setting up your account.
NOTE!! Please do not skip registering and logging in with Web of Science when you use EndNote. Although you can create an EndNote account independent of Web of Science, you won’t get the full functionality, which includes access to library resources such as Full Text Finder.
If you have already set up your account with Web of Science, sign in using the drop-down menu before starting EndNote.
Once you’ve set up your Web of Science account, you are now ready to start using EndNote by tapping or clicking “EndNote” on the top banner. This will take you to the reference management page, where you can begin building your own library. If you have used EndNote before, this page will list your previously saved references.
