Ableism LibGuide

Ableism is the conscious and unconscious attitude, and beliefs, that certain abilities (such as cognition, competitiveness, or speed, or having an able body and mind) are preferred and essential in society. This separate LibGuide provides resources which explain Ableism in depth and goes over language choices and microaggressions that are ableist. There is also information on universal design and universal design of learning. The link will open in a new tab.

The University of the Fraser Valley is situated on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples. The Stó:lō have an intrinsic relationship with what they refer to as S’olh Temexw (Our Sacred Land), therefore we express our gratitude and respect for the honour of living and working in this territory.
