For more than 20 years FNIGC has been collecting data in First Nations communities using an approach built on an inherent respect for data sovereignty as embodied by the First Nations principles of OCAP

The Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS) is a national survey on the social and economic conditions of First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit.

The First Nation Profiles is a collection of information that describes individual First Nation communities across Canada. The profiles include general information on a First Nation along with more detailed information about its reserve(s), governance, federal funding, geography, registered population statistics and various Census statistics.

This database provides item-level descriptions on approximately 1,500 maps and plans that relate to Aboriginal reserves and settlements in western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut Territory).

These profiles present community-level information from the 2006 Census of Population. Users can search for an area of interest by typing its 'place name' in the box below or by clicking on a province or territory from the list below and selecting the area from a list.

Census tracts are small, relatively stable geographic areas that usually have a population of 2,500 to 8,000. They are identified using seven-character numeric 'names' (e.g., 0005.00) and are located in census metropolitan areas (CMAs) and larger census agglomerations (CAs)1.

This profile presents information from the 2011 Census of Population for various levels of geography, including provinces and territories, census metropolitan areas, communities, census tracts and health regions. Users can search for an area of interest by typing its 'place name' or by browsing a list, by entering a postal code or a geographic code.

This product presents information from the Census of Population focusing on the Indigenous identity population and Indigenous households of various geographic areas. These geographic areas include: Canada, provinces and territories, census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations, census divisions, census subdivisions, Métis settlements, Inuit regions, and First Nation or Indian band and Tribal Council areas. Data are available for the Indigenous identity population by age groups and gender for selected socio-demographic characteristics.
