EDUC 421, Designs for Learning Elementary Social Studies: Instructor Recommended Websites

First Nations, Inuit and Metis Websites

Although it is good for people to be aware of the diversity of the Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the world, our protocol is to first and foremost to recognize the territory we are visiting. The best resources for Stó:lo here is Stó:lo Nation Research Resource Management Centre, the Sq’éwlets: A Stó:lō–Coast Salish community in the Fraser River Valley Virtual Museum, and the connected article, Digital Sq’éwlets: A story of belongings, worldview and teachings.

The University of the Fraser Valley is situated on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples. The Stó:lō have an intrinsic relationship with what they refer to as S’olh Temexw (Our Sacred Land), therefore we express our gratitude and respect for the honour of living and working in this territory.
